Is Sophia, the humanoid robot, the beginning of the end of the human race?

Everything has a beginning and an end. I don’t agree with all those doomsday prophets. There are amazong storirs that respnate a lot with the masses. However, looking at the history of AI and machine learning, it has been around for decades. Today we start to have the hardware capability to run the extremely demanding algorithms real time. Understanding how speech recognition or object detection works, will give insight in the matter, we are still at the start, we got the ball rolling forward and it will go faster and faster. But fundamentally, humans are biological, we can do math but are slow. Machines are fast in math, but have no feelings, dreams or goals. They are fast running instructions, we are not. They are like when the car was invented. It brings you from point A to point B. And you can drive drunk and kill people but it is the driver that decides. We are nowhere near machines destroying humans.
