How much do Xilinx and Altera FPGAs cost?

There are cheap and expensive FPGA’s. Some of the more expensive FPGA’s can be bought much cheaper by buying an off-the-shelf FPGA development board. Terasic comes to mind, but both Altera (Intel now) and Xilinx sell development boards too. If I need some component (like an FPGA), I usually check farnell, digikey and mouser. But I am sure there are others out there.
